The key frame has been cut and shaped to size in order to custom-fit into the piano. All the beechwood parts (mountings, ends, domes, key-slap rail fixings) are sent loose so have to be cut, shaped, planed and fitted precisely to the key frame in order for it to fit into the piano correctly.
